Epstein Files Show Flights Through UK Airports Until Weeks Before 2019 Arrest
Overview
Booking records, flight logs, and fuel receipts released by the Department of Justice indicate Jeffrey Epstein flew to and from Britain over 60 times. Records show Epstein's associates booked commercial flights for women in and out of the UK approximately one month before his arrest in 2019.
Six Police Forces Investigating UK Trafficking Allegations
Six police forces are reportedly examining whether victims were trafficked on Epstein's private plane in and out of UK airports and RAF bases.
Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown requested that the six forces assess whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor utilised the air force for trips linked to Epstein. Brown handed a file of evidence regarding flights to the forces whose policing authority boundaries cover the relevant airports.
The police forces named are the Metropolitan Police, Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Norfolk, and Bedfordshire constabularies. These forces cover Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton, RAF Horsham, and RAF Marsham. Among the RAF bases included in the investigation is RAF Northolt, a station in Ruislip, west London.
Documents indicate Epstein's plane landed at RAF Northolt in 2015. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing.
June 2019 Bookings
Epstein's associates organised flights from Heathrow to New York and back for a Russian woman — whose name was removed from records — on June 1 and June 9, 2019.
Lesley Groff, described as Epstein's assistant, asked an Amex concierge and account manager to add an unreserved hotel record to an itinerary. When the account manager replied it could be too late to make the booking and cancel it, Groff responded: "Can you just type up a hotel in an itinerary?" The account manager later found a hotel that allowed same-day cancellations. Groff answered: "Just add it to itinerary. I will cancel tomorrow morning."
'Decoy Flight' Email
Groff also requested the same concierge arrange a "decoy flight" for a woman travelling to Miami in 2016. The email read:
> "No return for this flight … This is a decoy flight … she will not really take it … but she needs to show an itinerary for this flight … can you put something together for me."
A journey departing from Rome and landing at London City Airport was suggested. Groff answered: "Let me find out if the fake ticket can show London City."
Lawyers representing Groff have previously stated Epstein's former assistant had "never witnessed anything improper or illegal."
Former Chief Crown Prosecutor Responds
Nazir Afzal, former chief crown prosecutor, described the findings as "scandalous." He told The Times:
> "How then is it possible for The Times and others to uncover vital incriminating evidence when a police review found no need to find it?"
Afzal stated that when the state is the alleged victim, it can "move at pace," but when the alleged victim is a woman, it "finds an excuse not to move at all."
RAF Northolt Fuel Receipt and Earlier UK Flights
Records in the Epstein files show a receipt for a Gulfstream jet fuelling at an RAF base on May 8, 2015. Journeys to Northolt had previously been noted in 2013.
Before Epstein was jailed in 2008 after being found guilty of sex offences, he made several journeys to and from UK airports on his Boeing 727. Most journeys were to and from Luton. Flights continued after his release in 2009, at a lower rate.
December 2000: Luton to Paris and RAF Marham
Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell travelled from Luton to Paris in December 2000. Tom Pritzker, an American businessman, was picked up by Epstein the following day, along with an individual referenced as "one female" in flight logs. The plane then flew to RAF Marham, after which they are said to have visited Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
Pritzker has not been accused of wrongdoing. He previously said he regretted his links with Epstein.
In 2011, The Telegraph asked Epstein's representatives about the likelihood that Andrew aided in organising the landing. Epstein queried his pilot, Larry Visoski, and then emailed Maxwell: "spoke to larry, it's true."
After Sandringham, the aircraft was moved to Norwich before flying back to the US with a stop in Gander, Canada, two days later.
December 2012: Stansted Repairs and Russian Woman
In December 2012, Epstein's plane received extensive repairs at Stansted. Once fixed, Epstein flew a young Russian woman — whose name was removed from the files — to the US.
In correspondence with aviation experts, Epstein asked for guidance on whether the woman could enter the UK before heading to the US using a Russian passport. Other documents show Epstein chartered a Cessna Citation jet to take him and the woman from Paris to Stansted before they boarded his plane to head to the US.
Epstein Emails on Andrew's Departure as Trade Envoy
On July 21, 2011 — the day it was publicly announced that Andrew would quit his role as the UK's special representative for international trade and investment — Epstein wrote in an email: "I assume he knows that this is Charles doing."
The message was sent in response to an associate who told him: "Lots of TV coverage on PA and always big feature on you. Insane." "PA" is understood to refer to Prince Andrew.
Andrew had served as the UK's special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 to 2011. He stepped back from the post amid scrutiny over his continued relationship with Epstein. A photograph of the pair walking together in New York had made headlines in the months leading up to his departure.
In another message the same day, Epstein wrote: "I'm sure this is good for him, he will now be free." He also forwarded a news article about Andrew stepping down to Ghislaine Maxwell, who replied: "why?" Epstein responded: "I think he wants to make money."
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Arrest
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office after being accused of leaking secrets to Epstein while serving as the UK's trade envoy. He was released under investigation after spending 11 hours in custody. Police confirmed they had concluded searches of his former Windsor mansion, Royal Lodge. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing.
FBI Omitted Interviews and Trump Allegation
The FBI noted a series of omitted interviews that include an unsubstantiated allegation that Donald Trump forced a victim of Epstein's towards his "exposed penis, which she subsequently bit."
The bureau had conversations with the woman on four occasions beginning in 2019. She "refused to co-operate" with a possible probe into the US President, according to an email between FBI agents in July 2025.
Trump has always denied any involvement or knowledge of Epstein's crimes.
The Department of Justice has not answered queries from NPR or from a number of Democrat senators who stated the account is evidence that the trove of documents has been interfered with to protect the US President.
Ten Police Forces Examining Allegations
Ten police forces in total are examining allegations in relation to Epstein, including claims he trafficked girls to and from the UK.
