Emails Challenge Elon Musk’s Denials of Epstein Relationship

Department of Justice documents reveal that Elon Musk maintained a much more familiar correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein than the billionaire has previously admitted. These records, which were part of a massive 3-million-page file dump, show the two men coordinating potential visits and professional meetings long after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor.

The most striking contradiction to Musk’s public narrative involves a series of emails from late 2013. Despite Musk’s 2019 claim that he "declined" repeated invitations to visit Epstein’s private island, the emails show Musk actively inquiring about a visit while vacationing in the British Virgin Islands. On December 13, 2013, Musk asked

Epstein for a "good time to visit," to which Epstein replied that there was "always space" for him. Further messages from Christmas Day show Musk suggesting a firm date of January 2, 2014, even offering to cut a separate trip short to make the meeting happen.

Beyond the island discussions, the documents suggest their relationship touched Musk’s business interests as well. Records from February 2013 include a calendar confirmation from Epstein’s assistant for a lunch at SpaceX headquarters. Additional exchanges show Epstein congratulating Musk on successful rocket launches, followed by cordial replies from the Tesla CEO. These professional ties are notable given that Musk previously stated he was "unaware" of Epstein ever touring his facilities.

The emergence of these friendly, multi-year communications stands in stark contrast to Musk’s recent public behavior. In recent years, Musk has frequently used Epstein's name to attack rivals like Bill Gates and political figures like Donald Trump, often positioning himself as a crusader for the release of these very files.
